NCTV45’s Supports Downtown New Castle’s Riverwalk Project

The City of New Castle and Riverwalk Steering Committee, along with our consultants (Mackin Engineers), invite you to our public presentation of the draft Riverwalk plan, map and artist rendering. (Invitational poster is attached)

It is on Wednesday, 22 October 2014, at 4PM at The Confluence (214 East Washington St, New Castle, PA 16101).

We will also provide a walkabout tour of the route after the brief presentation. We will then conclude with an open discussion and opportunities for public feedback following the tour.

The concept of the pedestrian river-walk was drawn from a 2005 Comprehensive Plan drafted for the City of New Castle and a 2003 study on river development conducted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It states the development of a trail network would provide New Castle with a comprehensive recreational system that capitalizes on existing facilities, opportunities and natural resources to “become a more attractive place to live, create more jobs, leverage past investments, shift negative perceptions and enhance the quality of life.”
